Bombesin

Bombesin is a tetradecapeptide first isolated from frog skin. In mammals, it is present mainly in nerves.

• pulmonary small cell carcinomas: 28/351

• bronchial carcinoids: 68%1

• pulmonary neuroendocrine carcinomas: 65%1

• cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinomas: 62%1

• gastrointestinal carcinoids and neuroendocrine carcinomas: 35%1

• phaeochromocytomas and paragangliomas: 5-10%1
