CD9 (motility-related protein, MRP-1)

This is a 24 to 27 kD cell-surface glycoprotein which inhibits cell motility. Its expression inversely correlates with tumour growth or metastases in carcinomas of lung, breast and colon, and in melanoma.

Antibodies are effective on paraffin-embedded tissue2.
