CITED1, Cbp/p300-interacting transactivator 1, melanocyte-specific gene 1, MSG1

CITED1 is a member of a family of nuclear proteins that regulate transcription factors.

Immunohistochemical expression

Overexpressed in papillary carcinomas of the thyroid. Rabbit polyclonal antibody is reported to produce high background staining, a problem that is overcome by raising the antibody against a recombinant protein1.

Diagnostic utility

Identification of papillary carcinomas of the thyroid, best used in a panel with other markers such as CK19, HBME-1 and Galectin -3.
