Primary mediastinal liposarcoma

Epidemiology

Primary liposarcoma represents less than 1% of all mediastinal tumours. They occur across a wide age range, but most patients are over 40 years old. There is no gender predominance.

Clinical features

Patients present with dyspnea or cough.

Prognosis

Well differentiated liposarcoma has a good prognosis with most patients disease-free. Dedifferentiated liposarcoma and Pleomorphic liposarcoma may metastasis to lung or distal sites1.
