Myoglobin

Myoglobin is a protein of 17.8 kD that is exclusive to skeletal muscle.  Antibodies to myoglobin are difficult to use and interpret1.

Diagnostic utility

• Identification of rhabdomyoma and "adult"-type rhabdomyosarcoma
