Pleural vascular sarcoma

Vascular sarcomas of the pleura occur most commonly in men. In Japan, but not in the West, they have been found to be associated with chronic pyothorax. These tumours include:

• Epithelioid haemangioendothelioma

• Angiosarcoma

• Epithelioid angiosarcoma: may be positive for cytokeratins.
