Kappa/lambda ISH

In situ hybridisation for immunoglobulin light chains has advantages over immunohistochemistry in that it does not have the propensity to be confounded by background staining. Colorimetric ISH (CISH) can be automated1.

Diagnostic utility

Demonstration of monoclonality in B-cell proliferations, most often useful in myeloma and cases with plasmacytic differentiation.
