Calcitonin

Some antibodies produce non-specific staining; monoclonal antibodies are generally more specific.

Immunohistochemical expression

• C-cells of the thyroid

• medullary carcinomas of the thyroid

• follicular-parafollicular carcinoma of the thyroid

• some neuroendocrine carcinomas of the larynx¹
