Oesophageal epithelium

Multilayered epithelium may be derived from mucosal gland duct epithelium and may be a progenitor of Barrett's epithelium. p63 may play a role in squamous neoplasia of the oesophagus but not Barrett's metaplasia and associated neoplasia.
