Immunohistochemical expression

Glut-4 is highly expressed in mitochondrion-rich, oxyphil, cells, including gastric parietal cells, external eye muscles, thyroid tissue in Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Hurthle cell neoplasms of the thyroid, oxyphil and chief cell neoplasms of the parathyroid, renal oncocytoma, salivary gland oncocytoma, Warthin's tumour and hibernoma.
