Parathyroid neoplasms

Oxyphil neoplasms contain abundant mitochondria. The identification of malignancy in parathyroid neoplasms is problematic. Mitotic count, vascular invasion, invasion of adjacent tissues and metastasis are indications of malignancy. In difficult cases, a combination of CK14, p27 and Ki67 may be helpful.
