It is six months since the last update was posted, so there are some major additions in this one. In particular, the whole haematolymphoid section has been updated to the WHO classification.
The vade mecum is now advertised at a number of pathology sites around the world. I wish to reciprocate by acknowledging them here. Please tell me of any others of which you know.
I put a trial of a web version on the Internet, now closed. Thanks to those who offered feedback. A web version would have a number of advantages:
It would be cross-platform.
The users would have a Natural Language Query facility.
It would allow me to monitor usage of each page and the questions asked by users when searching. I would then be able to concentrate on the areas which users most often consult.
In theory, it would allow frequent updates and would open the way to the incorporation of images, without the drawback of bloating the size of the distributed file.
Using iMarkup, you would be able to superimpose your own notes, including hyperlinks, on my pages. These mark-ups might be personal or departmental.
The trial has been well received and the working version should not be long appearing. I will also maintain the compiled version for those who prefer to download to their hard disk. This suits those with slow or intermittent connections through dial-up modems, or using laptops.
Wishing you all the best for the new year,
Paul Bishop
