Nodular pleural plaque

Pleural plaques are non-neoplastic, but may form nodules, mimicking pleural neoplasms. Pleural plaques are strongly associated with asbestos exposure. They are commonly multiple and bilateral. They are composed of hypocellular collagen forming a basket-weave pattern. There may be calcification or osseous metaplasia.
