Pleomorphic adenoma of salivary gland

Similar tumours may rarely arise from skin adnexa. A very few similar tumours have been reported as occurring in bone1.

Cytogenetics

Common aberrations are rearrengments of 8q12 involving the transcription facotr PLAG1, and of 12q13-15 involving the non-histone chromatin-associated protein HMGA23.
